Tonights progress
Nothing too major. The blend on the cloak is a bit to subtle on the camera but better in person. I may give it a glaze or two to darken the recesses. The armor will most likely be the next step as it has it's basecoat. I need to decide if I want to keep the edge of the collar black or possibly do it in a bone color?

Here is a sneak peak...
Ahh Adeption...
Well Adepticon has come and gone. Good times with a lot of old friends from way back. And sadly the 5 day bender has to end as well. I was impressed with the con and had good times playing in both beginner tournaments for flames of war. My mad dash and 1.5 week tirade of painting paid off with Best Painted Axis Army for the Mid War Tournament. Woo Hoo! I will get a good shot of the complete army up soon. In the meantime, having seen all the wonderfully converted armies has sent the brain into overdrive and the need to pain anything other than Fallschirmjager is great.

Schnell!
Soo close. All that is left is details and weathering on the StuGs, silfor on the mortars and arty, and webbing on the arty. Oh and one more Command base from start to finish. I have it built and ready to prime. I realized this past sunday I was missing one. And finally to finish the one objective marker and work on the panzer one a little more if I have time. One more day of painting til I leave. Soo close.

Monday nights update
Well Sunday was a learning experience for me on what to and what not to do with my army. Anyhow I took a few things away from the 2 games but sadly can't change my list to one I think would be more suited to the army. So back to painting. bases are done on all teams except the arty and mortars. Just finished the 2 8-Rads and the 2 Marder II's. So Actually I should have moved them to the finished pile. 2 more days of painting left. Whats left you ask?
Weapons, and webbing on the remaining crews. And for the 4 StuGs, camo and details. I will work on weapons and webbing tonight as well to get as much done as possible to free up the tanks.

Still more progress
So it's 7:15pm est. All the crews and gun teams are almost ready. I need to paint dwarf flesh on all of the skin then wash them in dark shade. That will get done tonight. After that I can start building up the bases as well. I did a little bit of weathering on the 2 Marder II's. Even got transfers on one but I decided to experiment with camo netting on them. I also picked up a Tamiya Weathing Master set while out grocery shopping today. Gonna start dinner in a bit then jump back into the pit! Tomorrow I travel to Delaware to get a few games in. It cuts a large chunk of painting time. Of which I only really have Tues and Wed nights to paint after then. Almost there...

And so it begins...
6 Days til I leave for Adepticon basically. How much of my army is complete? About 30%. It's game time. So what am I going to do? A good old fashioned iron painter. My way. I dropped the 2nd army and decided to focus on one and add some options to it to make it viable in both tournaments. So here is my plan. Paint like the wind. Which is really slow for me :) However I will be posting updates as I complete things. So without taking up too much more of my time. Here are the photos of where I stand as I start. The 1st is the 100% Completed piles. The 2nd is the incomplete pile. Stay tuned and feel free to lend support! Joe could use some words of wisdom as well.

3rd Fallschirmjager WIP
Tuesday, March 9, 2010
A small tiny update from the workbench...
So I am trying to crank out 2 separate 900 point armies for Flames of War in the next 16 days for Adepticon. I signed up for both beginner tournaments. My mid-war army is the 3rd Fallschirmjager from Tunisia/North Africa/Italy. They are turning out to be my favorite so far as the Fallschirmjager always peaked my interest. My late-war army are Gerpanzerte Panzergrenadiers which I may field as the 2nd SS Panzerdivison. I am still undecided on these. Anyhow here is a quick WIP on the Fallschirmjager on my desk. The plane isn't an actual Battlefront Miniature but a resin FW 190F cast I did myself in the same 1:144 scale that their other planes are in. I will have a flight of 3 of course to support the boys on the ground! But that is much later.
